Learnerships
To address the high levels of unemployment and closing of skills gaps within South Africa and the project management sector,
learnerships were introduced as experience-based learning programmes which entitles the learner to obtain a NQF registered qualification on completion of their learnership.
Learnerships are aimed to occupations and varying fields of work and are overseen by the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations)
once training companies are approved the learnerships are management and controlled by the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).
These programmes are specifically aimed at unemployed youth with a Matriculation (NQF 4) Certificate.
